Default Functional Wing/spoiler/ground effects?

Hi all!

Somehow became interested in wings/spoilers/ground effects for my '02 V6. Does an aftermarket company make these that are "functional"? Should I be looking at items for race cars or talking to a fabricator?

I like to drive over the speed limit and corner pretty hard, but is that enough to expect noticable enhancement from add ons?

you would be better off investing in the suspension, if you havent already. quality shocks, stiffer sway bars and sub frame connectors will make a big difference.

I second that. Suspension parts first, cosmetics (which just about every extra body part for this is) second.

I did all that but springs, and that was only because I didn't think of it until the car was apart, and couldn't find any locally. (I changed the shocks before I found this forum and learned about Strano) The car has the factory performance option springs. I got bigger tires (255) which also helped a lot too. I couldn't get at any 17" SS option wheels before new tires were imperative, and 255 was as big as local dealers stocked. (Sucks, when I build my Z28, I will not make those mistakes!)

So that means the only wings and air dams available are mostly cosmetic, or that road driving is too slow (or at slow speed has to be too big) for say, a race one, to work much?

Forget it and save the money for instruction and track time?

Thanks Craby!

Usually comes into effect above 100 MPH.

After looking around, it appears most racers make their own "spoiler" for the front bumper and use a generic racing wing. The only thing I have seen is the drag racing wing, which comes straight out from deck lid, about a foot or so, to cover the bumper, and an aluminum piece that covers the edge of the rear windshield to flow air over the stock wing.

Save that money for the Z28!
