Cool custom led lights

i wanna put led lights in the hood vents on my 95 3.4. what i was goin to do it get the waffle board they use for computers and put the led lights in that. my biggest problem is (since im no eletrical genius) if i splice the wire running to my headlights to power the led's will the lights loose power or be dimmer?

also what voltage/watts led's should i use?

is there a better wire i can slice into or use to power them?(i was gonna use the headlight wire because my led would turn on when i turn on the lights)

if you have anything to help me out with this project please let me know or give me some tips if you can

it won't dim the headlights. leds take up very little power. what you're talking about will be a little harder than you may think. you'll need the leds, board, resistors, and know how to solder.

i know how to solder i just need to know the specifics on the LED's and now resistors. in each vent i was gonna place maybes 6-8 so i know they have 12v LED's or would i need to get LED's that total 12v or does it not matter.

so the extra draw wont mess with my hid lights cuz i know the ballast controls the current and all of that so i dont wanna have to buy new hid bulbs or anything?

yeah they won't bother the headlights. they draw very little power and your alternator is plenty capable of maintaining voltage.
