2000 3.8 T-Top
Hey everyone, I have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 with T-Tops and I was looking to tint my driver and passenger windows. I would like the tint to match the factory tint of the t top but I'm not sure of the percentage that the t tops have. Does anyone happen to know the percentage?

I search other Camaro sites and I found the question ask several times no real answer just guesses. Here in PA the tint needs to be done by a certified installer and he has to markthe window like the factory does. Is it the same in Chicago? If so I sure the guy that quotes it can tell you how much different it will me.

you need to check state laws ,an best way to compare it is take top off an look at it in sunlight ,in this day an age alot of states don't want any tint on the side windows ,unless its a 4 door an back windows ,an some states can be black ,another thing to concider is driving with to dark on tint in one of the states that don't allow it,in my state unless it factory in the glass ,no tint at all is allowed NH

Tint percentages
Ok ive got a 2001 ttop camaro v6(for now) i just got my tint done today i did 20 percent on the doors 5% on the back and a 20% brow on the front and from sitting in it looking out the side windows are not as dark as the ttop i would guess there closer to 10% on the ttop. I dont know if all ttops are created equal but mine has dots all over for tint which i dont like at all. In about a week im going back to the tint shop and getting my truck done and im going to tint the whole front glass 40% instead of the brow but im very happy with the 20% and 5%.

On the tint laws
So as for me i dont really care what the percentage is legally i live in ga and have never been stopped and ive had "illegal" tint on vehicles for 20 years and i travel and havent had problems in any other state. But i have on occasion had a tint shop tell me they wouldnt do the tint i asked for mainly tinting the whole front window. But most the time of i tell them im out of state that satisfies there concious and there happy to take my money. If anyone is concerned i found a website i used sep2016 called tintlaws.com bc im working in ohio and i was just curious. Ohios law is 35% and says you have to have some certification sticker. But when i found a tint shop i told them id be moving out of state next week. Which is true going back to ga but i doubt they wouldve cared either way. I always do 20%on driver and passenger and never been stopped.

most states the back windows can be as dark as one wants, an side windows an front windows most need to be no tint, your ok in GA ,hear in NH they can fail an inspection for to dark sides windows ,for our police needs to be able to see in the car ,i did not know i had such light tint on my side windows looks so light but its there an passes though it should not be there ,it may have been factory tint that looks clear or near it
