Starts and stalls.

Starts and stalls.
(98 camaro auto 3.8L)
Hey guys got a problem. Started up the maro this morning and it throttled up and then stalled. It did this several times. So jumped out and checked the wires and made sure the coil packs were firing properly. All is well there. It taxes the motor pretty heavily. Kinda like its running on 4 cyclinders. At first I thought the fuel pump was shot but its starts strong every single time. The motor is definately choked down by something. Last time it stalled it blew off pressure from underneath the hood somewhere on the passenger side. I'm guessing it's possibly a problem with sensor or a module. I noticed a high pitched winding last night on the way home but it wasnt affecting the drivability of the vehicle by any means.Dont know if that will help any? I just caught a ride uptown to talk to a few mech's to see if I could get it in anywhere today. However there is a bike show going on and ever damn mech shop is closed till tuesday. I really dont have the choice of driving the vehicle if I wanted to get it to a shop. I can barely keep it running by playing with the pedal. My work week starts tomorrow and I really need to get this thing fixed today. Any idea's!

RE: Starts and stalls.
Glad you got it fixed. And for your general knowledge, no. 1996+ GM vehicles can no longer be paperclipped and have codes flashed. They require a code reader or scan tool. Only Chrysler allows you to turn the keyswitch on and off a few timesto display codes, but that has been largely phased out.
