O2 sensor location
my sixer is shootin codes at me sayin the front O2 sensor is bad where is it a,t i need to get it fixed ive got to go through DEQ this month, im going to jack it up and get under her tomorrow and i need to know quick where to look and how many i need.
when i did a quick look there was a sensor right infront and right behind the cat and the one in front of the cat was not wired up to anything and there was no connector there at all to plug one into either

there should be a connector there, there should also be an o2 sensoor on the exhaust manifold

Bank 1 sensor 1 is driver side exhaust manifold. Bank 2 sensor 1 is passenger side manifold. Cat sensors are bank 1 sensors 3 and 4. That should help you figure out which one.

This is funny becuase I have the same problem.
Im getting the PO420 code and I know its the O2 sensor right before the cat because I have the same problem as you, red98z, no wire on the sensor and no leads with a connector on the harness. I think Im gonna try an order the AC Delco Connector from rock auto and see if I can get under there and wire it back in. Let me know if you come across any useful information and if not I will keep you posted on whether what I am doing will work.

well found the prob it was bank 2 sensor 1 and the sensor thats not wired well, its not the stock Ypipe so my exhaust guys says it looks like i was very poorly thrown together so now im gunna have to have him whip me somthin up.
