Everytime I use the brake the car dies...HELP
I just recently bought a 1996 that someone had attempted to steal so the wires were all pulled down from under the dash.
I have managed to get those back into the wiring harness but the car dies everytime I use the break.
It is running rich and after it warms up I cant keep it running even if I don't touch the brake.
Has anyone else had this problem???
Thanks

Considering what was done to the car it could be a bunch of things, but I suspect something is wired wrong. However; if the wiring is correct, there is a possibility that the brake booster is bad, and creating a big vacuum leak whenever the brake pedal is depressed. Is the MIL lit? Have you scanned for codes?

Also the pedal itself could be pushing on a harness that has a bad connection or a broken wire in it.
If the engine is loading up you need to track that down. Also if you hold the pedal down is the engine a no start? what would help a lot. You can follow a normal trouble tree from the manual with a no start.
