Well I went and had my ignition module tested because I found out I wasnt getting any spark from any of the coil packs and it was bad. I've now put another new one on and now I am getting spark and when cranking the engine it starts to sound like its starting up but sputters back out.

Its just a cheap innova code reader. Im considering investing in a vetronics tech2 scanner after I get my tax refund.

For the Tech2, I recommend one of the Chinese-made clones/copies for about $300 (w/o case price). I have two and they have worked perfectly, one for two years now. These are made by the same factory that made the original ones in the last few years.

If you need cheaper ($28) solution, try the tiny MS310 that can display real time engine data (like RPM...). That is probably a knockoff also since I don't think Autel actually makes it anymore.

Well I got her running. Ended up being a miscommunication between me and someone I had helping me last time the harmonic balancer was pulled off. I took it off noticed it wasn't in the right position, corrected it, and my car fired right up. Im now getting P0300 random misfire. From what I have been reading I need to do a CASE relearn since I changed crank sensor and that should hopefully fix that.

Congratulations, that would do it.

Yes, you need the crank position variation relearn to get rid of the false misfires. A Tech2 can do that, just in case you are still interested in that.

Ya i will eventually be investing in one. I found a post explaining how to do it manually and im hoping that will work. I have to drive 400 miles round trip to get my son monday in it.

You can try that rumored manual method, but I don't think it will work. A friend swears it worked for his V6, but he brags a lot, so maybe not. I tried for a month of driving to get the code cleared from my 98's spare PCM to no avail, even when I tried the "recommended" procedures. The only thing that worked was the Tech2.
