Default Spun bearing in my 1998 y87 camaro

Just came accross what seemed like a sweet deal on 1998 camaro . For 750.00, i bought a one owner every option red with tan leather t-top car, after getting it home it started leaking at the intake.next after re-doing that, the compressor and a re-paint ,i thought i was ready.now it appears the 129,000 motor has a spun bearing... I noticed it was a y87 car and that it shares alot with the z-28.if it needs a rebuild should i go with a ls1 v8 or bother with the original v6?

Check out the sticky about converting the v6 to v8. Used motors are easy to find cause just about any 3.8 from 94-04 will work. Even if you plan on a rebuild going with a low miles core will most likely say you some money.
