Default Bad Bearings

Hello,
Want to know if anyone has experience changing the front and rear wheel bearings on a 98 camaro. im starting to hear a whineing noise from the rear. ive shaken the wheels at 6 and 12 oclock but theres no play in them. i figued id change them because the cars got 98k miles on it. Any good videos out there or instructions on how to change them? thanks

Not a big deal. For the front the hub assembly gets unbolted an the entire assembly gets replaced. The rear bearing require removing the axle shafts and removing the bearings from the axle housing. I suggest you invest in repair manual for your car and follow the instructions. Shaking wheels is not a very good test for finding bad bearings as it only works if the bearings are really really bad. Try making sharp right & left turns; a bad bearing will make more noise as the load on the outside wheels increases. More noise on a left turn indicates a bad bearing on the right side of the car, and vice versa.
