The 3800 is so reliable some of the big yard have a surplus on 3800. I has heard of some crazy low prices on low miles L26
Is it really worth putting 3k in one of these? I watch one on craigs list that was garage kept 40,000 miles on it and they where asking $3500. It was on there for 6 months. I would guess they did not get $3500.

yes they can be had cheap ,but it is a search an shop thing ,an the v8 cars seem to be getting higher though deals can be had you need to be right there to get the v8 before its gone ,v6 cars the deals are more wide spread for sure ,though average for 100k car is $3000.00 for a 3800,the ls1 is priced with 90k at $5000.00 to $10.000 an more on ebay .,an one i seen resently 2002 ss 60k at $6000.00 is the deal on CL has the better deal most of the time , sold fast later on, but was there for 2 months during winter to far away for me ,got to shop ,so many over pay for these 4th gen cars ,couse of the price of new ones. an i hear alot of kids say its a camaro is why some pay more ,though some of them are comeing down as wel as , 5th gen too

I believe there is nothing to do to the heads themselves. You are using the long block from FWD car Long block will include heads, cam, timing chain ect,,.

The search begins for a 3800 series III engine. Anyone know any good junkyards to hit in SoCal? Or Vegas Nevada?

Yeah I'm definitely following the thread to the "T". Glad to be an enthusiast amongst other intelligent peers. If I have any other questions I'm directing them here. Doing the swap with my uncle, he has his own shop, granted I'll be doing most the work and relying on him for directions and whatnot.
Cant wait to say I swapped my own engine and suspension upgrade later for the summer.
Im on.

Whats missing. First step is to check for fuel and spark.
Do you have fuel pressure?
Do you have Spark to the plug?
Do a signal to the injectors?
It is easy to forget a PCM connection under the dash. Spark plug wires in the right order? There are just so many places you could have missed a connector. Crank sensor, Cam sensor. If you have a way to check for codes or verify the PCM is seeing RPMs it could make this a lot quicker.
