I am not sure I understand the question. If you are going out the top its a pretty straight forward process. Are you looking for a step by step procedure?

uhh its kinda simple

unhook airbox and intake from TBI
unhook wire harness from engine all sensors OR un hook engine harness from car and lay it on the motor so wen u pull harness stays with engine....
remove anything else in the way of the motor coming straight up ward....suport the trans and unbolt the bellhousing
hav engine crane readily chained up to motor...un do motor mounts and lift engine out

thats lik the basics of what has to be done..i dnt go into really big detail..its kinda obvious i would think

theres no "easy and fast way" to pull an engine...just take ur time and do it right and itl come out easy...in a day mayb 2 depending on how fast you work and if you understand what you have to do

i think that if u r unsure of what your doing at all then you shuld take the car to a shop and hav it done....mayb

IDK, I think that there is a trick to getting that engine out from under the cowl without breaking the windshield. Some say it is easier to remove the UIM before lifting due to the small amount of clearance between the cowl and UIM. Others say drop the tranny crossmemeber and let the engine tilt down and bring it forward as it is tilting. I have never taken one out the top on these cars.

true i forgot in 4th gens tehy stuffed them under the cowl..ok wut i would do is drop the trany..remove the radiator and fans in the way...tilt it down and bring it as far forward as i posibly canb4 i bring it up any...b gentle and tak you time...tilt it down wen u pull it forward....then pull it up slowly as u bring it forward...i would try to bring it out from under the cowl and then bring it straight up....or bring it out and up at an angle with the engine tilted as far as needed

If you have not already started, don't forget to get the ole camera out and take a bunch of pics of where everything is. Those pics will really come in handy when putting everything back together when you are trying to remember how the wires were routed, where this and that goes.

Does anyone know if it will come out with the exhaust manifolds on it? Seems like it would be a very tight fit.

When I was debating the "out the top" thing, it looked very tight, even with the UIM off. That engine has to come up a good way for the oil pan to clear the engine cradle. Plus, I could not get my short arms to reach behind the back of the engine to unbolt the tranny without getting under the car and dropping the crossmember, once that was done, there was only 6 more bolts that held the engine cradle in!
