Default 02 sensor

Anyone know how to put a o2 sensor on? Im actually guessing it's the one before the catalytic converter. I plan on buying it from autozone for 70$, unlsess there's somewhere cheaper online. I also have to put new rear shocks on the back and i want to raise the car (if thats possible) a couple inches using taller shocks. Im going off a haynes guide and advice i get here. Thanks in advance.

I am assuming, being that you didn't say, thatyour car is a 96 or later. There are three O2 sensors. One in each exhaust manifold and one after the catalyst. You need to have the car scanned and decide which one is bad.
Left side manifold = bank 1, sensor 1
Right side manifold = bank 2, sensor 1
After the cat = bank 1, sensor 2

Shock absorbers do not change ride height unless you have some sort air adjustable shock, ride height is changed by using different springs.

sorry, its actually a 98. Will a regular scan tool from autozone work or shouldi go to the dealership. Asking because they want 89 dollars to do a diagnostic and i've been horror stories about our local GM dealership.

lol horror stories should have nothing to do with a simple scan, should take 10 mins at a dealership, but they will probably charge you 1hr diagnostic (i know thats how we do). some autozone type places can scan and they may show a simple o2 code, or it may be more advanced and say which bank. if it gives you a code number, list it up here and we can look up which bank.

This may be a dumb question, but can a bad O2 sensor rob me of horse power? I'm asking because Ive noticed that the sensors on my 94 3.4 are about as old and rusted as something at a junkyard. I'm also guesing that these sensors are the originals because they look so old. But, can they rob me of horse power?

ive got a 96 RS... and i have 4 sensors.. one in each exhaust manifor, then one right before the cat.. then one after.. i changed the 2 sensors on each side of the manifold.. now i need to do the other 2.. its not hard at all. you need that special socket for em tho.. if they are on there 2 tight, try using a torch to heat the sensor up andd her it a little lose.. thats all i had to do
