Default TH350 vs 4L60E

OK heres the question
Full DRAG track car so driveability and MPG is not a concern here
IM running an LS engine.
I know the 4th gen camaro came with 4L60E so driveshaft isnt a concern
Has anyone got any opinions or feedback on manual valve bodies on the 4l60E ?
or should I just run an aftermarket ECU for it and stick it in drive and let it shift on its own ?
Also if i switch and run a TH350 in order to use a stock driveshaft im assuming I have to look for a 6 inch tail stock ?
Im guessing the 9 inch is too long ?
Also will a stock driveshaft work with a TH350 setup ?

I don't think I'd even consider running a manual valve body on such a week trans. If a full track car is where you're headed, I'd invest in a lighter, cheaper and stronger th350 or 400 (if budget allows)

The TH350/400 trans comes as a short tailshaft and long shaft variety, I know for certain with either one, you'll need a different driveshaft.

The nice thing about a th350/400 trans is, you can use a 6 speed trans mount and they make a chromoly crossmember to bolt everything in

You're going to burn up the automatic, there's a reason why serious track cars have manual transmissions.
Constantly downshifting as you're going into the turns, and then upshifting again coming out of the turns is going to overheat the automatic.

Sorry should have been specific.
Drag track car,

Yeah that would have helped. Drag strip....Race track. The strip is not a "track". lol

I would use a Powerglide, 18 HP absorbed, and high stall convertor.
THM350's are light duty and absorb 37 HP.
THM400's are heavy duty, absorb 45 HP, hence a lot of mass to turn.

So the more power to rear tires, the quicker Camaro runs.
But then, if ET Bracket racing, "It's not how fast you run, but how you run fast."
Consistency is the name of the game - doing the same routine time and time again, wins.
