Strengthening the 10 bolt 7.5 rearend
#2
I did the same thing to a 79 Buick Regal with the stock 26 spline axels. Got the late model 28 spline diff. off Ebay and did some work for a guy and got a set of 28 spline axels form moser and a after market rear cover. I ran it at the track for two years and now its got a very healthy 406 in the frame rails. Just foot breaking the car not leaveing off a trans brake. For that I would just put in a 9 inch.

I would try anything to beef mine up then buy a ford rearend unless can get one at desent price the 9 inch ford can be costly I seen one the other day said with everything 2800.00 ,my mech said to with uni body construction we should weld some extra supports under the car get what you said, YAV8 he said for under 500hp should not need to ford rearend the ford is similar to what they use in nascar ,though we know nascar everthing cost more .but look up parts for for 9 inch you see nascar parts
