Another Trans Bites the Dust!

Another Trans Bites the Dust!
The 4L60E sucks in stock form, that's why it's the third replacement I will need since I owned my SS, biggest repeating failure, yes lead foot syndrome contributed. I lost gears due to slipping clutches. Well, this time it is going to be built internals -- all the best aftermarket parts, in the same case, when all is said and done, future rebuilds will only be $350 via the same shop.
TSI racing transmissions home of Transmission Specialties INC.
I cannot wait for better reliability…
As long as the trans is coming out, I could not pass up the opportunity for a torque converter upgrade! Yank SS w/3200 stall 2.1 STR is going in as well. I am told it has great street manners, and could actually improve gas mileage when lead foot is disabled, lol. http://www.converter.cc/F_Body_s/59.htm

Im on my 4th :P I burned up my stock pump, burned up the clutches on a built one and had it rebuilt, shifted super hard so I cracked the case, and now im here I would go with a 3600 stall, my car really woke up from it and it still drives like normal.

LOL Yea, well, Speed Inc. recommended a 3600 stall, but I talked to the Owner at Yank and he recommended the 3200 because the tires will keep trying to break loose w/out slicks with a 3600 stall. Also my race trans guy recommended a 2800-3200 stall based on my use scenario.

Cooler arrived monday & is almost installed, Yank tq converter arrived yesterday, and tear-down resulted in finding:
3-4 clutch gone, 2 & 3 bands black, it looks like when the GM rebuild was assembled in Mexico they paid little attention to quality, as snap rings flew off the reverse input drum & piston was chewed up by springs.
Work was delayed by dealing with my extended warranty which denied my claim, reason?: they said because it is "modified", 18" wheels/tires, headers, diverter, modified pcm (they plugged in to OBD), but never suggested the modifications caused the failure. Most of the modifications are less than 6 months ago. They also cancelled my policy -- shoot, I had the policy for over 10 yrs., renewed every 2-3 yrs. My mods are very tame, certainly not what I would define as anything real significant. I mean many people change the exhaust, and going up 1" on wheels/tires?! Give me a break.

So I come to find out that the transmission replacement I had done in 2008 under the same extended warranty was an improper replacement. The trans guy thinks it was a V6 truck transmission, and had less clutches than expected, and the wrong torque converter for this car. The trans was installed by a Chevrolet shop, but the hardware was sourced by the extended warranty and shipped in. How the shop and multiple visits to other GM shops later could determine the root cause is beyond me -- so much for quality techs!
I also took the car to Suburban Driveline, a shop that ONLY does driveline/rear end work http://www.suburbandriveline.com/ who confirmed this vibration issue I have been having:
https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...ss-shop-62293/
https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...tion-ss-54202/
was apparently due to a shorter trans tail section and therefore now the driveshaft is too short. The cheaper fix now is to put in a new custom length driveshaft.
Here's what it looks like today, obviously it is sticking out way too far!:

Bellhousing to tail housing mount length on the V6 4L60E is 23-3/16". The LS1 model is 23-19/32". The tailshaft housings are the same 7-9/16" length. Your 13/32" shortfall is from the case.
