Im actually the leader of a racing team out my way called 282 Touge. We take to corners, so with a v6, the weight distribution is a little better. Plus the ls puts out way too much torque for this style racing. I would spin tires to easy on exit and do more drifting or crashing then racing. I still take it to the drag strip every now and again too. Its fun, just not my thing. She is my daily driver and my favorite car in general. I don't really race her much to begin with. I dont like to beat on her like that. I plan to have her around for a long time.

The shocks actually look like they were installed maybe a month before I got her. No leaks, you can still see the stickers on them. I think the guy replaced them when he lowered the front end. Now I just have to get an adjustable pan hard bar which is a pain in the neck to find, and some rear lowering springs to even her out.

Update: I got the new bosch spark plugs in along with the MSD wires. They work great! Ill have some pictures up shortly. Wait until you see the before pictures. Mine as well hang them on the wall for halloween.

cool, sounds good. and you're certainly right about these engines lasting, im closing in on 225,000 miles and it runs very well.

ive seen so many of these engines go well over 200k. i wouldnt want another engine. when this one does die, if i dont keep rebuilding it that is, Ill throw another fresh 3.4l engine right in. Ill honestly probably get another car for a daily driver for a while when this one gets up there, and have the engine rebuilt with all new parts. But I am making sure its all forged steel and built just like these engines were originally. That way Ill have a brand new motor basically that will go another 200k + miles.

head gasket is the stopper, i have seen many 3.4s on here toasted by a blown head gasket.

really?! I have yet to see that problem. Well I can only hope that one doesnt happen to me. I imagine its either really hard work, or you would have to pull the engine out for the head gasket. even the intake manifold i gave up on trying to get out because I couldnt get the bolts in the back with anything I had. ( I have a brand new gasket I wanted to put in just for the sake of doing so. )

Update :

So I am seriously excited to announce this!! I ONLY NEED THE FRONT VALENCE OF THE RS KIT NOW!! I just got the rear valence and side skirts from the RS! So one more piece and Ive got them all. So far Ive only spent $125 to get these 6/7 pieces! About 1/8th the price of buying them! Ill post pictures after I repaint them and put them on.
The unfortunate side is, I have no idea how long it will take to find the front valence. Thats the hardest part of all to find as Ive noticed.

On another note, Sydney got her much deserved oil change today. As well as an actual CAI. No more ghetto rigged, filterless system. She is starting to look more performance oriented even with just the wires, cai, and cleaned up engine bay.

I forgot to put this in the beginning, and Im going to edit it, but so everyone knows thats been following this, I only got the car and started working on it February 2nd.
Also an update of whats to come this week.
- Finishing an exhaust modification. I have a few videos to show the progress.
- lowering the exhaust tips to fit the rs rear valence
- I have an idea of how to make my own sequential tail lights, so Ill be working on that.
- installing new low beam lights
- painting and installing the rs trim
-have some more pain in the neck work to do with the front bumper. I really need mesh or that air vent grill piece.
-then to figure out which of the wires controls the gauge cluster lights. i remember there were 2 pink wires and 2 brown wires that didnt have a clue of a difference between them. So I get to mess with them to see which wires light up the gauge cluster.
-Then to just put everything back together neatly and clean up until the next project arrives.
Looks like Im going to have a busy week.

Well just got done with the RS kit. Just need the front valence. Painted it to match the rest of the accenting since I dont have the stuff to color match. Im just going to get it repainted sometime this year.
