if those were the original U-joints then they probably had the plastic ring in them and you needed a torch to get them out. I've heated them and watched the plastic stuff come out like puss coming out of a zit (ewwww).

And what's up with the stove from the 1970's in the garage?

Also, what's up with the Plymouth in the garage in the first pictures? Is that car still around?

Yep had to do that before, and there ain't no getting it out without melting....which he did quite well! lol
From the factory, molten nylon is injected into a hole in the yoke to lock the caps in place. If you look at the one pic where he's holding the melted down cap, you can see the groove where the nylon would have been.
I was wondering about the stove too, perhaps he dabbles in powder coating, or maybe likes to bake brownies.

They were original. I got the nylon to come out, but they still wouldn't budge. Just about everything on this car so far I've found to be original. Haha.

We got the stove from my grand parents a few years back when we redid their kitchen and use it for powder coating.

We still have the Satellite. It's been hiding in the carport while the Camaro takes up the garage space. Haha. It'll be coming back into the garage next winter for a engine swap.

Engine should be in the car tonight!

Houston, we have fire up!

It's short, but the car has no tune yet. Should run much better once that comes!

Not yet. I'll find out how it runs without one moving it in and out of the garage to prep for paint. I think right now it just doesn't like to idle, but that may be the fuel pump. I'm gonna check the pressure and make sure it's holding good before I go further. It held 35-40 psi of oil and that's going by my mechanical gauge. I didn't see what the factory one was showing.
