Default HELP!!! PWR window won't go back up

Please help, I rolled my 97 camaro driver side window down the other day and now it won't go back up. Passenger side still works fine. I read that it could be a bad relay next to the firewall. Went to a junk yard and got a new relay off a 2002 camaro but it still won't work! I don't live in the nicest part of town so having window security is kind of a must. When I try rolling up the window I hear a clicking noise under the dash. Do you think that maybe a 98-02 relay just doesn't work on a 97? If someone could please help I'd really appreciate it!

It might be the rocker switch because I put a voltage meter on it and when I tested the passenger side it was showing 0.00 and that means that there is a connection. But when I tested the driver side it showed just a 1 meaning there's resistance and there's no continuity

this is probably not going to help. but I occasionally have this problem where my window gets stuck from going down or up, what I do is hit the door with my fist and then it works again. (probably not a good idea but its what works with my window) but sounds electrical for you I think mines is mechanical. ehh

As much as I would have liked that to work haha it turned out to be that the motor was burnt out. Went to local junk yard and picked one out of a 2002 camaro and with the help of my trusty mechanic father it was replaced in like 4 hours.

To anyone reading this has the same problem PAY SOMEONE TO REPLACE IT IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY! That was one of the longest and most challenging ordeals I've had to deal with, with this car

It will be your rocker switch simply because My spouse and i put a voltage meter onto it so when My spouse and i tested your traveler facet it turned out displaying 0. 00 knowning that signifies that there are an association. But once i tested your new driver facet the item confirmed merely a 1 meaning there's opposition in addition to there is no continuity.

Had a reoccurring problem with the passenger side window on the 2002 Z28 not always working. Dealer tested and found motor bad. Replaced it with a GM part so had a 12 month 12000 mile warranty.
About 4 months later intermittent problem returned. Naturally when at the dealer it worked and they didn't know how to proceed. (Whatever happened to real mechanics?)
Anyway talking with Service Manager we decided to replace the driver's side switch. That was a year ago and works fine.
Power windows are great, until they don't work!

I have a 2002 Camaro SS and I have replaced my driver's side window motor twice and the passenger side once. You are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place - the GM part really isn't the best and I didn't have much luck with an aftermarket motor either. For what it's worth, it really isn't too hard, find a good youtube video and you will be all set. If you plan on keeping the car for a long period of time as I do, it will be worth it to you in the long run to learn how to do this. Doing it yourself is about $30-70 and 3 hours of your time vs. them probably ripping you for a few hundred at a dealer or mechanic shop.

I had this problem just the other day. Driver window motor died. After removing the window regulator I decided to replace the rivets with thread inserts and 6mm bolts. I also enlarged the holes where the motor connects to the window regulator and fitted 6mm bolts and ny-lock nuts. At least next time the motor packs up all I have to do is unbolt it from the inner door card. The whole job took me less than 2 hours and I also took the opportunity to lubricate all the wheels and runners. Works a treat now but for how long............

you can buy the motor an with regulater built in cheap like 40,00 or less ebay ,those motors have spot welds ,I would just put the new assy in ,as the motors do burn out ,couse we can re lube them without more work ,there are guys who refurbish them an have the tools to undo the welds ,then clean them up an resell them ,there cheap enough new
