1999 Camaro Bright Switch not engaging

For lack of a better description, one side of the key resistor is "in", the other side is "out".
Are you looking at a key that's listed for your model car? GM VATS keys have the resistor exposed on both sides of the key.

Lol..... I looked up the keys on ebay. "Single sided" means the key has teeth on one side only. Different cars have teeth on both sides. Technically, the teeth are on the edge, but who am I to argue.
Order away, those are the right keys, you're fine.

Old thread I know. I had the same problem on my 94. If your steering wheel moves up and down like its spring loaded then the joint for the tilt column is bad. Pull down on the steering wheel, if it moves, then try your dimmer switch. I fit works, that's most likely your problem.

I went to a junk yard and got a different column. When it thaws out here in PA. Ill try and get a picture of it for you. Its a joint at the pivot of the tilt column. Unlike the third gen columns where you just had to retighten the three screws. There was also an article in Vette magazine replacing it. I'm sure it's similar. I'll also try and find that for you.
