Default Wiring Problem.

Just looking for info before I start this.
Here's the deal, My yellow top is being drained like a ***** and i keep having to recharge it.
This started when me and my friend changed the spark plugs a few days ago. He placed a ratchet above the strut and it fell onto the positive an negative terminal and it sparked a lot. I replaced the main fuse which was shot, which was surprisingly the only one. The guy who owned the car before me had a Jerry rigged sub system which he ran wiring through the entire car.

What I've done so far is I bought a new alternator and replaced my yellow top which had a bad cell and now i have a brand new one. The old yellow top was a month old and Im pretty sure we broke it lol.

How should I approach this? By all new wiring, or run through all the wiring and check the grounds and what not? which way is fastest? Ill also like to know from people who have re-wired their cars or know anything about it how much it would roughly be?

If those amp wires aren't taped off, they could be grounding somewhere. (bad bad bad)... this can cause a short in your battery of there isn't an inline fuse installed. I'd remove all of the wiring he installed

Anyone know how much new wiring will be? + time for instillation? I'm thinking this will be the end result of removing all the old system wiring.
Are there any good write ups on this?
