Those are decent numbers. I just did my 81 with a 406,getting 9.1 miles to gallon! That ain't cheap,I gotta do 3.5 gallons of vp 108 and 13 gallons of non ethanol 91 to get 94 octane. I tried few tanks of 91 non eth in the v6,mpg didn't change,I was hoping for more being my car pre eth days but didn't make a difference, power wise I don't think so either,I couldn't tell . The 406 hates ethanol,I tried 93 it pinged like crazy. Oh yea finally got a race in v6, a 1987 dodge Daytona 2.2 turbo, from the start we were almost neck and neck, till 80 then he started to pull on me,oh well my car about 1000 pounds heavier, she did good! It was very close,we didn't go from dead stop where I think I coulda jumped him some....

where are the pictures ,yup I did a bit better with my 406 like 12 an 15 mabey on 99,my v6 gets like 19 an 27 efi gets better gas milage those Daytona cars I had the non turbo 88 90 hp the turbo was like 142hp the 92 Daytona r/t an very rare came out with 2.2L turbo with a powered up 224hp an are bad as,an some they put the 355 in them for track raceing , but nothing is going to hang with my 406 an the stock car of that range I meen mine was quick little car but not a v8 ,it would take an older stock 5.0 to keep up with mine or that 92 Iroc r/t as they were so light an nimble they were over looked big time an i loved my 5 speed, then the Shelby z was hot too, ooh pure ethanol who told you to put that in it ,my 406 we turned mine down was lean ,runs better I add a half bottle of gumout octane booster gives me the .5 octane I need an no knock ,where did you get the 406 ?have you used a set of plugs yet ,mine are the same an look great .mine was built for 1/8th mile run too,try turning the timeing down knocking is not good to much of it ,I was told it would like high octane ,now could try turning timeing down more wich we did with mine already but if one turns it down to much ,it takes away hp,i knew I would be paying more for gas but beats the 4.00 this time last year now at $2.65 per gallon for 93 ,that's why you got v6 right .I got mine for milage an AC I wont put AC back in the 95 ever, sounds like you got some tuneing problems ,like said with mine we turned the timeing down then add the half octane did it for me with 93 ,even a bottle of 105 with 93 would seem cheaper then vp 108 ,sounds kinda weird what your doing you need a good carb tuner, what carb you got on yours I have 650 cfm 4b .some guys think they need the bigger carb when they don't ,they end up sucking wind an bad gas milage loss of power alot of things ,,I was told I would only need 750 cfm for 600hp or more then 550tlbs ,an I am at about 420hp an 520 tlbs , ,heck I know your 81 weighs more then my 95 ,but your 200hp v6 should hang with a 2.2l Daytona turbo if it was an 87 all day long,if you got the th350 slaming down to second gear when you catch up then into 3rd should not be close unless your at 100 mph thats what I do when those little 4 bangers want to pass down to 2 gear then pass them up in 3rd bye bye, sometimes I let them go an watch them get pulled over as I have the latest radar too ,only guessing on your carb, post some pics of this car an your engine build

I have tuned it best I can,I can get 6-7" vac in gear. 780 qf vs super street. I got a/f gauge, motor won't deal with any leaner than 13.5 at cruise,I messed with everything! It's as good as I can get it, 22 initial, max 36 and advance hooked to port totaling 52. I got 70 jets in front and 82 back. My cam is 540/541 10.9-1 compression. I need 94 octane,93 ethanol would not work,it pinged bad . Idk 3500 stall and 3.70 gears,I don't expect much more than 9,I thought I'd be little more tho,I never checked, new it was bad. As for the dodge Daytona, looked it up,has 152 hp,plus he had a 5 speed,he didn't beat me by much, and I didn't get him for dead stop where I think it would a ben closer . Ya I got my v6 for a d/d I love the car,I'm very happy with it,thing I don't like,It don't park well, could be litte more nimble.

I hear you some would say if I need 1 octane ,an you need the same that somthing can be done ,though I think we don't want lose hp ,I think its just funny that mine just 0.5 octane does the trick an with you 1 does it ,some guys use 100% toluene as there octane booster .nothing with paint thinner ,I was thinking about it ,but though for 3 bucks bottle about $6.00 a week it cost me ,its what works for me ,an if you have not changed plugs just like me ,should be fine ,post some pics? did you build it ,mine is a crate engine from www.karlperformance.com does circle track raceing an I got there budget engine with forged parts for like $1800.00 less becouse of a mistake in my favor an more hp ,it was a $5200.00 long block with all the extras I got for $3200.00 ,an that I had chose a red block at the same time another guy had ordered his engine 2 years next month ,then turns out it was an engine there new version has aluminum heads too,but mine came with iron ones ,but all forged parts inside, they may have made misake by sending out the wrong engines to me an the other guy during race week, who they had to take back his an send him another one ,with me they just said gift from us .I like mine an it runs good too for a frankin car hehehe ,I am going to be putting a set of jones full bore on mine soon either late this year or next year.yes some of those turbo Daytona cars were takeing out all the Camaros of the 80s an some porsche cars anything with the 305 an most 350 cars ,the 92 iroc r/t with 224hp there are only handful of them left out there but they did not hold there value ,the 224hp one I would think has to have some value if you could find one .mine was a fun little light weight car 5 speed ,with a 355 bad ssa ,that would be a great swap a 406 in a 91 Daytona yes I think there weight was 2400lbs that would make for a fast car no wonder they raced them, wow prices went up alot in 2 years ,the 406 with aluminum heads when it first came out the first 6 months one could get it delivered for $4000.00 now its $5800.00 + $250.0 shipping still not bad for what you get 1k a year
