Ratchet Recommendation for removing spark plugs
What type of ratchet is best for removing the spark plugs on a 94LT1. Preferably one I can buy at an auto store. I want to make sure I have all the necessary tools before I render my car useless for a few hours (hopefully not days). I couldn't find one like the one recommended in the Haynes Manual (didn't check many stores though).

The best ratchet I found for tight work is the 3/8" SK Roto Ratchet which was originally intended for aircraft work, they come with either 36 or 72 teeth version. The 72 teeth works best. Cost varies from $50 to $75. Harbor Freight sells their version for around $10. You will also need an assortment of 3/8" wobble type extension, universal joint, and a spark plug socket with a rubber insert.

I like this style
Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more
When you combind the above with ball swivel plug socket you should be able to get to about anything.

I am sure if you ask 5 different mechaincs you will get 5 different answers.

for the # 6 plug I just use the spark plug socket and an open end wrench. It comes right out but you must be laying across the top of your engine if you are right handed.
I do have long tube headers so only the #6 plug is a problem. The others are a piece of cake.
