I guess i should continue this thread since the problems may be related. I seemed to have got that random popping in the brakes to stop. I think it was engine vibration like craby mentioned. So i found a plug that i mustve over torqued, the porcelain on one of the plugs was cracked so i swapped that out and found a burned boot on a plug. Now I am noticing a fluctuation and bog while stopped at a light. The rpms when im stopped at a light go to about 500rmps, when i mash the gas i feel a slight bog out. Nothing like when my opti was going out. The oil pressure seems to go down a bit to around 15-20 psi. I heard the rule of thumb for OP is about 10psi per 1x rpms. It does feel a bit rough when im pushing up to about 60mph, it accelerates but not like i would expect. I also noticed when it is idling in park gear the rpms are around 800 idle. Within the past year i have cleaned the TB, TBPS, IAC and MAF. This seems to be out of nowhere. I used a scan and reset the IAC about a week ago. I dont want to ramble too much, thanks for the help

have you looked at the 02 sensors to see if they are fouled
make double sure all the plug wires are on all the way and in the right place.

Havent checked the 02 sensors yet, im sure those look bad. I had the cat temp removed about a year back. I checked the plug wires they seem to be on properly and i added some dielectric grease on them.

Oh i forgot to add some info about my plugs. The plugs I installed are the ngk tr 55, i noticed coming out of the box they are gaped at .60. Our cars are supposed to be gaped at .50 right? I pulled the old plugs and those were left at .60 by my mechanic

.050 is the gap for the original AC/Delco plugs. NGK recommends .044 for the LT1 when using their TR55's. Don't know that you'd notice a difference between .044 and .050, but .060 is a bit excessive.

ok that's what I set them as before I did the install. That mechanic was an @$$ I don't go to him anymore. So as I go along now I am noticing different things, the oil gauge needle fluctuates at lot at idle. It doesn't go below 10psi but its definitely not staying consistent. It goes up to about 60psi while driving. I am feeling a bog sensation when cruising at about 60mph. I am also noticing a burn smell that i am not familiar with. Its not fluid or anything. I figured it was the anti seize that i added to the thread but that should be off by now? I don't want to go to crazy and toss parts at the car since im not getting any codes. I will swap the 02 sensors this weekend. My mechanic is out of town and this is bugging me out. Thanks for the help, let me know if any of this makes sense. I don't think any work i did on my end contributed to it but who knows.

oil pressure switch/sensor is a common fail. check the plug to it and make sure its in all the way. also common to knock it lose when doing exhaust work and maybe plugs.

Ill check that as well. Would a loose gauge sensor affect the ride of the car?
