Default obd 1i

I am new to the Camaro world am trying to do the simple OBD1i test.
I shorted pins 1 and 2 and the radiator cooling fans came on ????
The Check eng. light did not come on.
What have I got going on \.

flashing for codes only works on the 93, what year and model do you have?

Thanks for the reply, I have the 94 Z28, LT-1, 4Spd automatic, .
My problem is, It has gotten to where it will not start on the 1st cranking. Starts fine on the 2nd try. Fuel pres. is 48, new fuel reglator, new fuel filter. Fuel pres. will NOT hold after the pumps stops. Pres. holds at 43 with eng. running.
Anthing else ???

Leaking injector(s), bad check valve, or regulator. I have the same problem, but my car gets driven enough it will start on the first try 9 out of 10 times.

how are the plugs looking. how old are they? plug wires?

Plugs are 6 months old, about 300 miles, that shouldent be a problem. I will start looking at the injectors or fuel check valve. Thanks

The check valve is part of the fuel pump and have to be replaced as a unit.

I was wondering why he said I hoped it was the check valve. I had three air tech pumps in my car. Two of them had bad check valves. The current pump failed after about 6 months.

If its a leaking injector you should get a real rough idle at first as it clears the gas out. If it is a check valve just cycle the key on and off a few times. If it starts right up with no loaded up, rough sound it is probable the check valve.

I notices if I park facing down hill my car will start with one key cycle. If I park up hill I cycle the key 3 time.

I guess that when you park facing downhill the tank is at a higher level and all the fuel in the line does not drain back into the tank. lol
