Default New to the forums, ecm issue has me stumped

Hi everyone so I am looking for advice on what to do with my 2002 camaro regarding having my ecm flashed. I have the v6 camaro with the auto trans. Only have 130k on my car parked winters and the trans went out with the sunshell problem. Found a 2000 camaro v6 with the t5 trans and posi rear end with 3.23 gears as a parts car so I converted the trans over to my car and I plan on putting in the rear end at a later date. Before I did the conversion I did research on it and it seems like I should be able to have my ecm flashed so it reflects the transmission change and more importantly my Speedo will be correct not at less than half of the actual speed.

So I took my car to two different Chevy dealers and they both couldn't flash the ecm. It appears that I could maybe put the ecm out of my parts car into mine and that might work however I junked the parts car and didn't keep the ecm...

However I did keep the title to the car so I have the vin number off of it and I could get a replacement ecm flashed to that vin but what other options do I or should I consider? I'm sure i could take my ecm out of my car and send it out for reprogramming but I would like to get recommendations. Thanks everyone!

would be easier if you kept that pcm. have you looked at tuners like pcmforless and lt1pcmtuning and see what they can do, maybe have it tuned at the same time.

Used pcms for the V6 cars are dirt cheap, about $80 for one programmed to that VIN. Most GM dealers will charge $100 just for the programming. Good thing they couldn't/wouldn't do it.
