Need help making a decision about my 94 Z28.
I need help making a quick decision. So my 94' Z28 hasn't been running for a couple of months now. It has 2 issues that I know of. 1 is where the starter and flywheel connect. It doesn't turn. The other is a fuel problem. I think it's either the pump or an injector. Some guy came by and asked if I would sell it. He looked at it and said in the condition he couldn't do more than $700. Let me add that I'm not that great with cars, I don't have the money to fix it right now, my tags are due and so is smog this month (April) and I have 2 kids. It also needs a new top as you can see. I also work full time and go to school so I have very little time to try and work on it myself. With all these things adding up, I kinda do feel like selling it. My question is should I just get rid of it and is the price fair? too low? too high? If I keep it I know I have to spend quiet a bit of money on it that I don't have right now. Let me know what you guys think.

It is a shame but without being able to hear it run or test drive a rag top that needs a new top is not worth a lot unless this is a 50,000 mile car.
Fuel pump is a common issue and easy to fix with the hatch method. Could cost you as little a $100. If you need a new flex plate there are some tricks I know to make that easier.
$700 seem a little light, I think you could find someone to go $900-$1000 on it as it sits. Personally if I gave up on the car I am not sure $200-$300 gain would be worth all the craigs list crap. I would just take the $700.

interior's tough
won't start
why is there a wheel chalk behind the tire, does the brake not hold and why isn't it in gear?
how are the tires?
clear coat is peeling
all things which can be fixed but if you have neither the time, ability or resources, then you're in a tough spot
Frankly, $700 as is is fair. maybe you could hold off for another $100 or $200 but it needs to be brought home by flatbed. It's unknown why the engine won't turn and it could be an expensive proposition.
Even if the no-turn is not that bad, you're looking at dropping a few $thousand even doing a lot of work yourself (or the buyer)
assumptions
decent new top
new tires
fix brakes
fix transmission/clutch (why isn't it in gear)
fix engine
repair interior
sand prime and have a low cost 2 stage paint job done
take the money and don't look back

Thanks guys. The engine is good, I know the starting problems will be no biggie for a mechanic but I know that it does need money in other areas, like top, tags and I forgot to mention brakes. There's wheel chocks on it because I had it up on jack stands and I just never took them off. The breaks hold fine. I've also had this car since 2007 so I'm leaning more towards getting ride of it. Time to let go I guess.
