Low Oil Light on, but Oil level is fine on dipstick.
I am getting Low Oil Light on my dash, but my oil level is fine on the dipstick -- 2001 Camaro SS. Any ideas? I have to imagine either the sensor died due to age, or possibly some wiring issue -- perhaps from the headers' heat? I saw no visible wiring concerns to the sensor. TIA.

no more leaks
To shut off the low oil light, a piece of wire jumpering the connector
We never relied on it anyway and like with all of our vehicles, we use the ocular verification method with the manual measurement tool :-)

Electronic monitoring = cars for dummies. I don't trust it nearly as much as I trust myself, to have the oil level where I'd like it to be. In addition to not waiting for the car to tell you when the oil is low, inspecting it yourself gives you the opportunity to give everything else under the hood a once over.

Wow this forum has become a waste.
Apparently there are two versions with the same 12603782 (for LS1) part number, will either work? Perhaps the different one is a newer revision, improved? Although it appears the 2nd picture below may be for a different connector?
Like I have now:
