It's been a while since I did one, and despite being young, my memory sucks (not enough blue berries according to my HS biology teacher) but you need a code scanner that can let you see the parameters of various sensors. With the scanner plugged in and key in run (no start) you push slowly on the throttle and watch the percentage for the throttle position as you press down and see if flooring it gets you close to 100 percent throttle.
The MAF would make the engine run rough, under all conditions, but shouldn't reduce power in the way you are saying.

Just a FYI this is not something that gets better with age. When I was back in my 20's I was able to memorize 2-3 years worth of the Chevy technical bulletins and when I got my work order I would review all the other work orders and mark which ones had a relevant bulletin. At 50 I am lucky I remember What I did to my own cars 2 years ago.

To test a throttle position sensor. Take the connection loose and use a multimeter while pushing down on the peddle. OK. So if the connection to the peddle is disconnected, how in the h### are you sapose to test the stupid peddle? I'm lost man.

Sounds like the pedal sensor is at fault. However, I'd double check with either a code scanner or multimeter. Your symptom is one I've heard before. If the computer isn't getting the proper signal from the sensor, it'll default to a preset reference to prevent the engine from accidentally being held at the rev limiter, even if your foot isn't touching the throttle.

What did you do to rule out the pedal sensor?
The ASR light coming can go hand and hand with the pedal sensor. BUT since the ASR light keeps coming and staying on, it's possible that ASR is sticking causing the reduced power.

Ok I am back. I have replaced everything except the computer. My symptom is, I start the car, it is running fine, maybe 2 minutes into idle the ASR light comes on simultaneously followed by the reduced engine power.I need help.
