Default Help please!

I have an 02 Camaro 3.8 drive by junk, I mean wire. New crank position sensor, MAP sensor, Cam position sensor, new throttle body with new mass airflow sensor, new spark plugs, lets see what else. I start the car and it runs fine, it runs for maybe a minute and the ASR light comes on followed by the reduced engine power then of course I can put it to the floor and get maybe 1500 RPMs of course. I don't know what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the pedal sensor is at fault. However, I'd double check with either a code scanner or multimeter. Your symptom is one I've heard before. If the computer isn't getting the proper signal from the sensor, it'll default to a preset reference to prevent the engine from accidentally being held at the rev limiter, even if your foot isn't touching the throttle.

I have had it diagnosed several times and it always comes back with MAF. I kind of ruled that out after the 3rd MAF sensor I installed. I am not sure I have a pedal sensor do I? My thing is, why does the ASR light come on at idle and then it goes haywire?

Are you saying you are getting only a MAF error and you are getting a reduced engine power light? I thought reduced engine power was a DBW issue only.

If you are getting a MAF error and the problem is in the wires or connectors you can put 100 MAF sensors in the car and still have the same problem. All the PCM knows is there is something wrong with the circuit NOT if its the sensor or the wiring.

I am not saying you gas pedal sensor is bad but it is a very common cause of the reduced power condition.

Grab a manual form the manual section. Personally I would not have removed it at all I would hook up a lap top and watch the position the PCM is seeing. I believe the next step is a check the resistance in in the pedal as it moves. It is just a Potentiometer, like a volume switch, kind of like a throttle position sensor. I believe the way it works is the PCM monitors the pedal position and the throttle position and if they are not in sync the system reduces power. But I have not owned one and they did not come out until after I stopped being a mechanic.
