Some people (not me tho) like the fart can sound. I'd try it first and see how you like it, or don't. Different exhaust note and possible droning inside the car are what you'll notice. Were you wanting to end the exhaust before the rearend simply for ease of installation?

Not for ease of installation I just thought it would be something different but if doing that makes it sound like a fart can then heck no! I don't like the fart can sound either. So before I get everything installed I'll see how I like it with no muffler and with.

So is it agreed that leaving some tubing after the muffler will reduce rasp and fart can sound?

Adding pipe after the muffler, going up & over and out the back will make the exhaust quieter and less raspy, both outside and inside the car.

Cool, that settles it, the muffler will go before the axle and the pipe over the axle will stay.

Now the only issue Amazon sent me a muffler for a 2.5 exhaust. Now I have to wait some more to send it back and get the right one. At least I know what I'll be doing.

Ok, the muffler is in and it sounds great. Noticeably less drone when cruising compared to the flow master, but every bit as loud on acceleration. The quality of the sound, I would say, is more smooth than the flowmaster, but still has a deeper tone than stock. It still rasps but not nearly as bad and it doesn't start until 3500 as opposed to 3000. Yeah I know it's a small difference but I'll take it. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow.

mounted before the axle...the angle makes it look like its hanging lower than it is. It really only hangs slightly lower than the original piping did.

pipe still going over the axle...again deceptive angle its not really hanging that low.

Merry Christmas everyone.

After a few hundred miles the muffler is sagging a little more than I'd like.

Where can I get access to the other side of this bolt? I think it's a little too short to get a hanger and a bolt with lock washer on it. So I need to replace it with a longer one if possible.

Never mind, it's the bolt that holds the rear seat belt buckle in.
