exhaust setup

exhaust setup
hello looking to install some long tube headers and ory pipe. Not into the big name brand but trying to figure out what to run after that the y pipe? thinking of running a single pipe with resonator and dump before the axle? or should I run a x or h pipe? I got an 800 dollar quote to install the lt and piping. Not sure where to go from here. I know dumping it would be loud I don't mind it but I don't want it too quiet either and im on a budget but still want to get this work done sooner than later

lol they aren't that strict down here like in other states. all the stangs i hear screaming around here i don't think mines would make much of a difference. i think its like 75 dbs or so here. i want the pipes to make noise but not me sitting in the car not being able to hear myself think. I know there are multiple setups i can run but i would like to keep it basic but functional and loud

in that case, look at a set of texas speed rumbler, I had one on my car for awhile and it was loud, but not obnoxious

Thanks for the suggestion. I am thinking of sticking with the long tube/ypipe setup and dump it at the axle with a bullet dynomax (if i can find it). The quotes im getting for installing any other type of setup are outrageous. 600 bucks minimum just to install LT sound normal?? I would like to do it myself i just dont have the time.

Actually, just so you know, in Florida it is illegal to modify the exhaust system of ANY vehicle in such a way that it is louder than that vehicle came from the factory and the limits are 72db at 35 and below and 79db at 35 and up. (See F.S.S. 316.293)

My agency doesn't have db meters but if you are driving like an idiot or are otherwise on the police radar you can be stopped, and ticketed for exhaust anytime-all that has to be proven is that the car is louder than the same car from the factory.

Thanks for posting Ben, I have lived in several States on the east coast and I can say the enforcement of car noise levels has always been inconsistent. Even in the same county I have seen insane crack downs one year only to have it get slide back to where it was in a next two years. Honestly I think it is based on complaints or an external force pushing the police.
A pet peeve of mine is the Harley's, they never seem to get messed with for sound. They can rattle the glass in my house but in the city of Lancaster PA if you let one pop when you down shift in a car and they cops where on you like fly's on ...... One thing I can say for sure, If you get a ticket just pay it. Everyone else's car sounds that way is not a defense.

I hear that, I take my racecar out on the street every once in awhile and have cops pull up and give me thumbs up, but every once in awhile you get one who wants to enforce the laws.
As for the OPs question, headers are a PITA to do on 4th gens, it doesn't surprise me one bit that they want that much to do it. I mean, they literally suck
