Default exhaust manifold gaskets

found out my passenger side manifold gasket is messed up. mind as well do both gaskets. Does it matter what brand/type of manfold gasket to get? i see a whole bunch of summitracing and cant decide which ones to purchase. i have stock manifolds at the moment.

Never had a problem running without a gasket, as long as the mainfold is straight.

If I were to use a gasket, soft alum gasket or copper will work very well.

It used to be the manifold castings were stress relieved at the foundry 6-8 months before machining was ever done to the castings. Now days, time is money, and as soon as the casting comes out of the mold, the manifold is made, then over time, read heat/cold cycles, the manifold warps. Now need to table sand/mill the manifold flat and proceed.

well i have decided to put some good $$ into this car and do a rebuild. I caved i love this car even though its old. i plan on taking out the engine + tranny. I am wondering what did everyone do for a good reliable and fairly priced build(i have $1500) to spend. im thinking heads, flywheel, clutch, fatter tires,1000cc fuel pump?

rebuild or build? 1500 dont do much of a rebuild. what exhaust you running? all the build you can do does no good without good headers and exhaust

a build is what i ment. i an running a a dgexhaust tips with a y pipe and some kind of muffler delete kit. i plan on getting corvette headers with the build. i dont want to go crazy but maybe some better heads, clutch and fatter tires and drop it 2inches. with maybe a racing flywheel and aftermarket fuel pump? i know i will have to do some shopping around for best prices and all.
