Doors Wont Lock With New Alarm System
Hey guys I have a '99 Camaro 3.8l V6. I had fully functional power locks with stock alarm system & stock head unit. I wanted a new sound system, so I got new speakers, head unit, and a new Viper alarm system. Now my doors won't lock with the Viper keyfob nor the switch on the door, but they will unlock. The shop is telling me the locking actuators are bad, but I can't believe that because they were working perfectly fine before this change. The stock alarm system is actually still enabled for some reason. If I were to have the driver door open and hit the lock portion on the door switch, it would beep twice and engage the stock alarm once the door is shut but not lock the door.
Any ideas for how I can troubleshoot this issue? I don't trust this shop anymore. Would there be an issue with the BCM that needs to be looked into?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

The door lock actuators are reversible actuators. The same solenoid activates the lock and unlock function by reversing the circuit polarity in the BCM. That said, it is almost impossible to know what is causing this problem without seeing how the new alarm was wired.
