looking for a loudmouth 1 cutback- ground issues
hi all, long time no forum! hope all is well with everybody
as the title says im looking to drop in a cutback loudmouth 1, I heard its good sounding with stock manifolds and cats, anyone selling?
I also had a ground issue as long as I can remember, I finally cleaned the grounds few days ago, I got a little improvement gauge wise. it now hangs around just under the 13 Mark. there was a very thin ground wire hanging near the fuse box so I put a tip on and screwed it where the ground strap bolts. a little background info- battery has never been changed
alternator has never been changed
belt tensioner is recent
when playing music loud, the volt and oil gauge dance
when A-Z and radio on sitting in traffic or driving in traffic the volt gauge goes below the line between 8 and 13
car always fire up fine like 1.5 rotations
after ten minutes of driving
the gauges goes from the 13 Mark to the line below 13 in the red.

what year, my gauges are grounded under the driver side kick pad. im have a similar issue and am going to try changing my ignition switch. i noticed last night that there was no volts or gauges, moved the key around just a little and it was back.

had to hold the key in the sweet spot to get home from the bank today. my fingers were not happy. changing switch now, lucky i had ordered a switch on the 10th when i first noticed it and it got here today.

new ignition and high beam switch. both work great, everything comes on when i turn the key on and it starts right up. took the old switch apart and one contact was burnt pretty good. have to drive it a few times to see how it effects the volt readings.

any luck with the volts? I played with my key, didny make a difference. I did notice however that in the night when its cool the gauge needle stays at 13 until right about I'm back at home. that's about a 40 minute drive

Yeah I hear nothing good about the loudmouth systems. I have gmmg on my 98 ss with stock manifolds and cats and I love it. Going to be doing headers soon so I will see how much of a change there is in the sound

With the GMMG, you are not going to be happy with the LTs, especially if you have no cats -- you may need to add a resonator. I read stories from others going through the same thing...
