Default Changing my fuel pump!!!!!

The fuel pump in my 2000 Camaro went out. I'm not sure how to change it. I know you have to pull the tank. I'm not cutting an access in my car. Any instructions would be very appreciated.

you can use the hatch method which involves cutting a hole over the tank and making a cover for it. otherwise its not fun or easy. you will need to take the rearend off and the exhaust has to come off. download a manual from the manuals section. brb. ill post some links

There is a "00FB" folder for the 2000 manual. I think I will rename them to make that clear.

Default Changing my fuel pump

Thank you so much. I am downloading the manual. It's not what I wanted to hear but that's the way it goes. Thank you.

i was changing my exhaust anyways so went ahead and pulled the tank on mine to change the pump. wont be doin that again. dont know if the fill pipe on yours is the same as the 93 but that pipe really made it tough.

Nobody wants to hear about all the work involving the "right way" to do that. That's why most of us have cut the access hole. I even saw it happening on a used car lot recently (no surprise there I guess). Keep in mind that the 2000 fuel tank and pump are significantly different from the 93-98 models. The pump is a few inches farther to the rear of the car. The hole cut in this photo at a car lot, is adequate for either style.

Ok, gonna cut an access panel. The factory method of getting to the fuel pump is way too labor intensive!!!!!
