I have also noticed some come with the rpeg oil for you to put in and the others don't really specify weather it has been filled or not. I will probably go with that new $89 eBay compressor vs. the $230 o Reilly. thanks everyone

You should replace your orifice tube and accumulator at the same time

ok guys im fixing to order a new compressor kit with everything to get car ready for the upcoming summer. I should be able to just bolt new one on charge it back up and be good to go right. The ac worked great nothing seemed wrong unless heater was on and it sucked the power out of the car on take offs.. I think we figured it out quick enough and unplugged it before anything serious went wrong so I shouldn't have to worry about having to have it flushed should I... Thank's

You need to know the process to do this. since you compressor locked up you need to flush out your high side, replace the dryer receiver go thru and add the correct amount of oil for the procedure you did then the system needs to be vacuumed down. You should have a set of gages to make sure everything is working ok. This is covered in the GM shop manual you can download from the manual section and I think you can borrow the gages and vacuum pump from many chain parts stores. Also be sure to check out youtube for how too videos. Make the person in the video looks like he knows what he is talking about.

Replacing a locked up compress is a little more complicated then replacing a leaking compressor. Locked up compressors tend send metal all through the system. If any of that old metal gets into the new compressor you are going to had a redo real quick.
