When it shuts off does it start right back up or do you have to wait? Also does the shutting off happen “any time” only when it hot, only when cold? Does the car have a fits (car runs normal then has a bad period where it shuts down and runs ruff, then all of a sudden it is running fine again).
Any codes?
If you can predicted when it is going to happen it helps a lot. When cars have random issues like this they can be one of the hardest things for a seasoned Master tech to track down. The problem is in many cases every part will past all the tests except while the failure is occurring. Most techs that work on these problem have a way to log PCM data on the test drive then come back to the shop and review what happen. Even then it can take some thinking and guessing depending on what happened.
After saying all that I would lean toward MAF and ignition module. A fuel filter and pressure test might be a good idea also.
