First thing I would do is check a scanner and see if the PCM can see the VSS pulse.

i have a friend coming over to check that out....my main problem is that it is a 97 with an obd1 trans in it idk how they got everything else to work perfect just no speedo looking for alternatives or adapters to make it work without converting the whole car to obd1 or having to swap transmissions to make it work

Can you take a pic of it,,,, The 3.4 had an external slave cylinder and the 3800 has an internal one. Seems like a huge pain to convert a 3.4 trans to a 3800, I have never even heard of anyone doing it, also there is a shortage of 3.4 bell housing because of a weak point in the external slave. Also the clutches and flywheels are not interchangeable.

No such animal.

All 95 3800's where automatics and OBD2.
