Default 97 to 2000 brake swap.

I put the spindle out front brake setup off a 2000 SS on my 97 Z28.

now I want to order a full slotted rotor and ceramic brake kit.

Is there any difference in the rear brakes from the 2000, 1997?

Do I need to order fronts for the 2000 and rear for the 97.

Or can I order the full kit for the 2000 and use it on my 97.

yep rear brakes are different as well so if you didnt change the rears you will need 97 rear brake parts.

can I swap out the rear brakes from a 2000 to my 97.
I do have the full rear end from the 2000 ss with the brakes still attached.
I see the mounting position for the caliper has moved.
is the rear end from the 2000 ss different than my 97 Z28.
does the 2000 ss (manual car) have a posi rear and the 97 Z28 a limited slip.
I know the gear ratios change and I will have to look into that.

Yes. Will need the mounting bracket and backing plate, parking shoes for 2000 and the caliper. You may have to change the e-brake cables too but I'm not sure.

Yes and no. It will bolt into place the same as your '97. Depending on if your car has traction control and the 2000 had traction control, you may need to do some tweaking with the brake lines.

Posi and limited slip are one in the same. Posi (short for Positive Traction) was GM's name for a LSD. '97 I do believe was still the Auburn unit and '98 and up were Torsion units. The gear ratio out of the manual will more than likely be a 3.42. Yours is more likely a 3.23 if you have an auto or possibly 2.73. Either way, your speedo will be off a little.
