3800 series III...
about how much horsepower does a series 3 3800 push naturally and supercharged? would it bolt up to my manual 5 speed? (t5 i think is the name).
also, what about the series II 3.8 supercharged? i know they push 200 naturally, no clue what the supercharged grand prixs get..
i'm looking to swap my old 3.8 to one with less miles. i'm thinking the series 2 from the gtp grand prix. what kind of work would i have to do to my car for each of these engines? will the supercharged series 2 just simply bolt right up? or since it's supercharged are there other things i need?

Series III N/A I believe is the same as the II. Supercharged it is 260
Series II Supercharged is 240. I believe they would bolt up to your tranny, but you would have to custom make an intake, get it tuned, drive belt accessories might need some custom work, and I'm not sure if all the sensors are the same. If this was something cheap and easy (as far as supercharged engines), there would have been more than just one person to have done it. You'd be better off just find a Series II N/A of lesser miles to replace yours.

that's probably what i'll do. i'm going to run the engine i have in there now (which is still running just fine) until the end of summer. depending on its condition, i may go ahead and swap with a 3.8 i found in a junkyard 2000 firebird. i think it only had 80,000 miles. it should just hook right up with all the sensors and crap shouldn't it?

You will need to use your intake and fuel injectors and your exhaust manifold. You could use the newer injectors if you want to slice in the connectors. If you can get the Y-pipe from the 2000 I think your can get use the better flowing manifold but my junk yard would not give me the y-pipe. Seems its against the law to give out or sell used Cats. Not much you can do about the intake, its too tall. I think the 2000 is DBW anyway.
