Did you research compatibility? My understanding is 93,94,95 have no cross over years, Meaning a 93 needs replaced with a 93 and so on. The problem is the computer changed every year. 93 is the old school system, 94 OBD1 95 OBD1.5 96 is OBD 2.0. I think 96 & 97 are the same.

4l60e is a decent transmission but it can become a great transmission after a rebuild. Unless you scrape the bottom of the barrel for parts almost everything aftermarket is way better then original stock.

it will fit, I'm not sure about the harness plugin on the passenger side. check and see if they are the same.

'94 would use a Non-PWM 4L60E,
F/B/Y/D cars only used these in '94. Truck platforms used the Non-PWM 4L60E for '93/'94&'95, The Manual Shaft & Tail Housing will need to be swapped from the F-body trans.

A PWM 4L60E has "PWM" cast into the front pump cover, A Non-PWM doesn't.

Best I can find so far is that as long as it's after 94 it should be fine.... I'm gonna do more research before I put it in the car

I found this on another forum by a long time member. It looks like you may need some parts off you 95 to make it work.

"To use the 96 in the 95 you will need to use the 95 trans electronics3-2 solenoid and pwm with internal trans harness ."

For some weird reason I thought we were discussing a '94 Camaro, Sorry guys!

'95 PWM 4L60E's are '95 PWM 4L60E's...No way around that.

The 3-2 Solenoid on '93-'95 are PWM, '96-'08 are "On/Off". I wish it were that easy just to change Solenoid back & forth between the 2, But that is not the case.

To be fair, It will not throw codes, But the 3-2 Valvetrain between the 2 is completely different.

PWM Solenoids controls Valves Remotely.
On/Off Solenoids control Valves Directly.

"Hydraulically" This does not work! I realize I have not "earned my stripes" on this forum, But I build transmissions for a living, Please heed my warning.

You have a '97 4L60E you want to swap in? You could swap in a '96/'97 PCM or "Maybe" have a '96/'97 Trans segment swap done to your '95 PCM?

Give PCM for less a call, They may be able to help you. (724) 349-4431.

What I'm doing now is getting a used tranny just so I can drive the car for now... The one that is in the car I'm going to have built and put back in when I build my new motor... So really wanna try and keep everything as simple as possible

I hear you brother, You will need a '95 4L60E From a F-Body, B-Body, Or D-Body

F-Body, Camaro/Firbird. (V8 Only)
B-Body, Impala SS, Caprice, Roadmaster. 4.3L L99 V8 transmissions are identical to 5.7L LT1 transmissions.
D-Body, RWD Cadillac Fleetwood, Very popular Funeral cars in the mid '90's. Hearses & Funeral limos are babied all their life & the Trans cores are usually in really good shape.

Stay away from the Getto rides, They are usually burnt up!
