1995 OBDII help
hello, i have 95 with an OBDI computer and and OBDII connector under the dash. I have a cable and software for OBDII but this damn thing is OBDI and my computer will not recognize it. I would like to make a 16 pin ALDL to USB connector, does any one have the proper wiring for this so I know what wires will go where on the usb port. I know pin 9 on the connector is the data stream. I would hate to spend $60 on a cable i can make my slef. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks-- Sean

I looked it up on the internet and there is an obd-1 for sale, just type it in, I think it said 79.95, and it is made by axiom, I think, at northern tool. if you are like me your car is having issues and cannot get to autozone to get it read..... there are also some guys on other sites talking about runnin a jumper on the obd-1 and it will flash codes, i do not feel like blowing fuses so I don't know,,,,, might ask craby or LT4weeda bout it, they seem more profound than me on this...

The 1995 has a OBDI computer but the test port is configured for OBDII. You need to use a OBDI scanner and an adapter cable that allows the OBDI scanner to connect to the PCM via the OBDII type connector. You can easily make one up or you may find one from a vendor.
Keep in mind that a simple code reader will not work, you need a real OBDI scanner.
