Default GM 3800 Series II V6 into a 3rd gen?

I have access to a wrecked '99 Grand Prix GTP and was wondering if someone's drop that engine (or the 4th gen RS' 3.8L) into a 3rd gen? I think it would be unique to have this engine (with more boost obviously) into a 3rd gen. That's what I'm looking for, something unique...not the same old 350 TPI or stroker motor generic project. Putting an LS1 in would qualify as unique but way too expensive. Any information is greatly appreciated.

*edit*
Damn, I put this in the wrong forum. Can someone move this to the root 3rd gen forum please? Thank you.

it would be hard to do. the main reason is the mounts. the engine mounts for the fwd 3.8 are on the ends of the block, which means you cant mount it the same way as the 3.8 in the 5th gens. i am 100% positive of this. i plan on using a 3.8 from a 5th gen to use in a geo tracker. the rest of the 3.8's will not mount in the frame rails.

the FWD cars intake is also backward from a RWD inatke , the throttle body is on the bellhousing end of the fwd cars , so the throttle body would be against the firewall.

Isn't the 3.8L in the 4th gen Camaro RS the same block as the 3800 Series II in the Grand Prix (and etc)?

no the engine mounts on the block itself are different, and i belive the starter is on the other side.

yes, the mounts are different. rwd engines have the mounts on the side of the engine, below the exhaust, cylinders, etc. fwd engine have the mounts on what would be the ends of the block, where the harmonic balancer and tranny are.

the only problem with putting a old style turbo 3.8L in a F-body is finding the exhaust manifolds. they are like chickens teeth. but you could have some custom headers built and resolve that issue.

i know of a turbo 4.3 (?) from a 2nd gen T/A that still has the manifolds, but not the turbo.
