got a question about tpi 305 and carbed 350
hey guys, i have a question for ya. i got a 1986 Iroc camaro with a carbed 350 4 bolt main in it. im looking and buying a 1985 z28 parts car that has a 305 tpi in it, hasnt ran for 2-3 years, but looks really clean underneath the hood. no leaks or bad gaskets or anything. i was torn between leaving my 350 in and rebuild it or take the 305 TPI out of the 85 and rebuilding it and dropping it in my iroc. but then my friend talked about taking the TPI system and electronics off of the 305 and rebuilding that stuff and transferring it on to the 350. the 350 is a 1983 350 small block.
my question is this : will there be any problems that i run into transferring the TPI system off of the 305 to the 350? or can it even be done? and if it can be done will there be any mods i have to do.

save your money and rebuild the 350,it would cost to much just to get the 305 to were your 350 is at now,a 305 would be a down grade for your car.not to mention there is more stuff out there for your 350 then there is for a 305.

Unless you REALLY want the TPI system, just rebuild your 350 and leave it carbed. You could sell the TPI system and most likely make enough money off of that to get some goodies for the 350. The TPI offers no real power improvement, and then you run into a bunch of other BS and you will also have to get injectors for the 350, not to mention a fuel pump. Not worth it IMHO
