A common cause for a glowing header/exhaust manifold can be by having a rich fuel condition. One of your cylinders in that bank could be running rich or not firing/mis-firing. Raw fuel would get dumped into the exhaust, then burning in the exhaust, and turning it red. Are you getting a check engine light?

Another thing that needs to be replaced. I just recently purchased the car to work on and it will be my project car while in the military but to answer your question there is no check engine light. Most of everything in the car was removed quite surpised any bulbs were left in the car. Even if I dont have a code reader and autozone says the car is to late to read.
