i just bought this car. if i dump gas into intake she'll start but i can't find furl pump for one. second i don't understand the carb. it looks simple but i'm not to great with cars lol. this is my project car and i just working on getting fuel to motor. please any suggestions will be great!!! oh another thing is if it has carb but is fuel injected... how does that all work out. sorry a lot of questions at once but i'm sure i'll have plenty more!

well see i did that already. there wasn't a noise from what i could hear. but see that car has been sitting for almost 4 or 5 years now and it had the fuel pump replace right before the clutch burnt out. the kid just didn't have the money to fix clutch and his dad just bought him different car. i'm on my way to car to take fuel filter off and i have checked relays and fuses. how much for a new fuel pump if that is the promblem?

Its the fuel pump i have ran into this issue many times. You will have to drop the fuel tank. To do this you will have to lower the rear axle. If you dont have a ton of mechincal experince take it too a shop to prevent any damage when removing the tank. Most good shops will charge about 400 bucks (give or take a few) plus the cost of the pump. Since you where not sure if the MPFI (multi point fuel injection) was carb or fuel injection i would recomend taking it to a shop.
This is a very normal issue and a lot of guys get rid of good 3rd and 4th gens because they cant figure out what it is.

Close but its (Multi port fuel injection). You could try the fuel filter. If the car sat for 4 years with any gas in it and someone turned the key on the fuel pump would be full a varnish and it would over heat heat in about minute. The pump needs gas flowing thru it to cool it. Its life is measured in seconds if it gets gummed up and can not turn.
