1986 2.8L MPFI Camaro ? Need Help ?
I baught a 1986 2.8L Multi Port Fuel Injection Chevy Camaro. I found the following issues on the way home with the car. This car had been setting for over a year.
1. Car Idael high.
2. Engine boggs when accerlating.
3. Engine Back fires out the intake manifold.
4. Vehicle drives but will not accerlate behond Idael.
5. Codes pulled 22 and 34
6. Replaced the Accelerator Position sensor.
7. Cleaned the MAF Mass airflow Sensor.
8. pulled the Spark plugs and found a couple spark plugs with mild oil traces.
9. Cleaned and gapped the spark plugs
10. removed the distributor cap and cleaned the electrodes top and bottom.
11. cleaned the rotor cap.
12. noted the distributor was rusty inside.
13. removed the catylitic converter.
14. Cleaned the throttle body.
15. Replaced manifold vacume line.
And the issue has not changed. We do need a resolution quickly.

Your codes came out to problems related to the TPS and MAF. You stated in your post on line 6 that you replaced the throttle position sensor, but did you reset it to the proper voltage at idle? Sometimes just cleaning a MAF sensor may not solve your problem as in my case years ago. I tried cleaning but had to replace mine to remedy the problem. This goes the same for plugs, cap and rotors. Cleaning may not be enough. If in doubt, replace with new. Before you go out and buy a new MAF, try test driving it with it disconnected. If it improves then it may be your problem. good luck.

No to the adjustment of the TPS? However I just replaced the TPS with a new one adjustint it to 0.5 volts. Replaced the MAF and cleared the codes. Replaced the fuel filter. and adjusted the timing according the hynes manuel. I have the start the car using carb cleanr until it runs off its own fuel. Timing still seams a bit jumpy between 4 and 8 degrees at idle.

You jumped timing. Cars don't go out of timing 18 deg. on their own. Your timing chain jumped a tooth. I have seen in a few times with the 2.8s. Now that you have fixed the ignition timing the car will start, you may even get it to idle but until the valve timing is fixed you will not get much over idle. New timing chain will fix you up.
Funny part was when I read your first post I started to type "check your timing if it out more then 10 degs you jumped the chain" Something told me to finish the rest of the post and there it was. LOL
Oh ,and Go Gamecocks!

Replaced timing chain and water pump reset the distributor cap and rotor.
I put on new wires, plugs and coil tomorrow, new TPS adjusted to .5 volts, New MAF sensor. New gas, heat fuel water seperator, and injector cleaner. New battery, Belt and this P.O.S still does not want to start. I will be checking the fuel pressure tomorrow at the fuel rail. Thaughts PLZ?

Ok new spark Plugs (Bosh 4042) Gap .045, New Coil, Reset distributor. Got the car started with carb cleaner, Checked the Fuel pressure is at 2 PSI, and adjusted timing to 12 degrees. I hear the pump prime so I am hoping it the filter.
New distributor, cap, rotor, Plugs, wires, coil, timing chain, water pump, battery, radiator hoses, MAF, and TPS.
Fuel now appears to be the problem.
Once I get the car started and warmed up it will Ideal, but not accelerate.
I have till the 5th to get this thing running.
HELP Please!
