Default Is it worth it?

Alright so I've been looking for a fun car for a while and I found this '84 Camaro with a 350 and automatic tranny for $500 on Craigslist. It has flood damage but still, $500. I didn't want to go buy something before I know how much its worth so I came here first. So, is it worth it?

that's up to you. How much money are you ready to spend over the next 12 months to restore the vehicle?

Then, inspect for rust holes. If you don't have a stomach for $10,000 then stop kidding yourself. Oh, and that's doing a LOT of work yourself

If you want to know what's involved, check out the project threads. I did an 89RS and it was in better shape to start. I found lots of good deals at the time.

It is worth $500 in parts, but there is no way I would restore a flood car when non-flood cars can be found. There can be mud and rust in places a normal 3 gen would never get and every connector in the whole car should be replaced.

If a brand new flooded Camaro is not worth fixing then a 1984 might not be worth the extra work.

Agree not to fix ,there are to many nice ones out there ,wait till you got 2000.00 to 2500.00 to spend ,i seen a sweet red 92 rs 92.000 miles cleaner then my 99 under, $2200.00 offer with 5.0 too, there also out there the ,most 500.00 cars with v8 will be parts cars ,but keep searching you may find one that runs but needs a trany ,graigs list ,every day,an allways get a good look under the car looks can be deceiving ,with mine 99 ,i am have a control arm an 4 holes patched the hole under side sprayed with undercoating ,$400.00 $500.00 to fix ,i am doing it couse at this point it does not leak drop of oil or leak anything an the ac system is new an low miles
