Turbo 350 Tranny stuck in 3rd

Find someone with a trans jack or a motor cycle jack if you can and if you do not have lift. It will make dropping the trans that much easier. Take your time and double check everything twice when you're done. Also, have someone there to help is nice as well.

The biggest mistakes people make when changing a transmission:
Not seating the torque converter. This will destroy the transmission. Search Youtube for seating a torque converter
Not flushing out the cooling lines. When a transmission breaks apart inside some of the fragments end up in the cooling lines. If they are not flushed it could cost you the new trans. All it takes is something the size of a fingernail clipping to jam up a valve.

I actually got lucky and learned from one of my buddies mistakes when we did the trans in his f150. He didn't seat the torque converter correctly and ending up destroying his new tranny. I have a lift and a tranny jack and all the right tools so actually pulling it out won't be hard at all. Should only take me about 45 mins to have it pulled out and on the ground. Thank you for the tip about flushing the lines though I never would have thought to do that.
