Arrow Transmission Questions

1. How do i tell what transmission i have?
-it has over drive
-3rd gen camaro,
-automatic transmission
-4 speed i believe.
1990 RS Camaro

Also...
Sometimes when shifting gears, if i pound it, it will over rev,
by over rev, i mean it goes into the red just a bit.

It may be a computer thing, but regardless.. i havent done anything with the transmission and i would like to add something to it, rather than draining it and refilling.

Anyone have any good luck with a certain transmission additive that they would recommend ?

If the original hasn't been swapped out, then you have a 700R4.
You can tell what you have by looking at the pan: Chevrolet Chevy Transmission Identification and Decoding
As far as the rpm spike, could be the trans slipping, but it could also be you need to adjust the TV cable (not to be confused with cable TV). Start there first: Art Carr's 700r4 tv cable adjustment guide from CPTtransmission.com
